Viega Profipress S for renewable energies
Viega Profipress S creates perfect connections for a variety of energy and heat sources, including solar, district heating and low-pressure steam systems. The system is absolutely ideal for installations with renewable energy sources and higher operating temperatures. The FKM sealing element is already integrated for dimensions ranging from 12 to 35 mm and is available separately for dimensions greater than 35 mm.
Direct connection to solar energy sources
Viega Profipress S is the really easy way to create connections to solar collectors with absolute precision. The system is compatible with both flat collectors and vacuum tube collectors. Profipress S can handle high standstill temperatures with ease.
District heat and low-pressure steam systems
The system can also be used in secondary circuits of district heat supply systems as well as in low-pressure steam systems.
Markings used on Viega Profipress S packaging
To avoid confusion, Viega Profipress S connectors are supplied in an orange bag. The white rectangle on the bag indicates the FKM sealing element used in the connector, while the white dot for the SC-Contur shows that it is intended for special applications.

The product range includes over 800 different press connectors and system components for versatile installations: the complete drinking water installation can be realised with the Profipress system – from the riser pipe to the final draw-off point. Regardless of whether you are aiming for a ring system or series pipeline with double wall plates or a T-piece installation with connection to the circulation pipe – Profipress has the right components for every conceivable application in dimensions from 12 to 108 mm (in Germany up to 64 mm).
High level of safety thanks to the Viega SC-Contur
The Viega SC-Contur feature on each press connector means that any inadvertently unpressed connection points will visibly leak when the system is filled. It also allows the entire system to be monitored with a centralised leakage test. This eliminates the need for time-consuming visual checks while also reducing the amount of work required and the risk of leaking connections.
Smartloop inliner technology
Sufficient circulation – usually through a separate pipe next to the hot water pipe – is important for maintaining constant temperatures when distributing hot water. The Smartloop inliner technology combines the supply and return flow in one pipe, eliminating the need for an additional pipe. The advantages are less heat loss, reduced material and assembly expenditure and lower pipe insulation costs. When it comes to drinking water installations, Viega Profipress sets new standards in quality and hygiene while meeting the requirements of the German Drinking Water Ordinance. Because of the high-quality materials used – namely copper, gunmetal or silicon bronze – hygienic drinking water is guaranteed at every draw-off point with absolutely no risk of an unacceptable change in drinking water quality. The hygienic packaging of the Profipress connectors keeps them in optimum condition from production through to assembly for the best possible drinking water quality.
Impressive solutions for industrial applications
The Profipress product range is perfectly tailored to the different requirements of technical gases, fuel gases, compressed air, cooling water and oils. All systems are suitable for compressed air installations.
The high-quality elastomer sealing elements are precisely matched to the respective media. EPDM sealing elements are ideal for use with virtually all technical gases and liquid media, with the exception of natural gas/liquid gas and heating oil/diesel fuels. However it is in special applications that the FKM sealing elements from the Profipress S range truly excel, such as solar heat, district heat and low-pressure steam systems.
Economical dimensioning
Because of the low pressure losses associated with the Viega Profipress connectors, the dimensioning of the components can be tailored to requirements. In addition to the diameters of 54 and 76.1 mm, the Viega Profipress product range also includes the intermediate size of 64 mm. This avoids excessively large volumes in drinking water installations – which is not only economically advantageous but also helps to maintain drinking water quality.
A proven concept: ring system or series pipeline
Continuous water exchange is important for maintaining drinking water quality. For this reason, any draw-off points that are not used regularly should be installed in a ring or as a series pipeline. Viega offers the right technology for both scenarios.
Ring system or series pipeline without circulation
Whenever planning involves factoring in hygiene, double wall plates for fitting connections must only be used in ring systems and series pipelines that are not part of the circulation circuit.
To minimise heat transfer from the hot water pipe to the cold water pipe, the hot water pipe is routed to the wall plate from above via a T-piece. The last draw-off point is connected to the central circulation pipe.
Hygiene and safety on the construction site
The hygienic packaging of the Viega Profipress connectors keeps them in optimum condition from production through to assembly for the best possible drinking water quality. In addition, the QR code provides quick information about the products. Doing away with the plugs for the connectors means there is no additional environmental impact.
Profipress is also a good choice for heating installations
With over 800 press connectors and many other system components, Viega Profipress is also perfect for heating installations. For new build and modernisation projects alike, the installation process is quick, safe and cost-effective. Special components are available in the form of the various cross pieces and screed manifolds, the slip coupling for repairs and extensions, a skirting board radiator connector and a radiator connection set.
